Scooter Safety Tips

When your child is riding a foot-powered scooter it’s important to follow a few tips to keep him or her safe while riding.

1. Read the owner's manual carefully
Be sure to mind the minimum age and weight requirements specific to each type of scooter. This information can be found in the owner’s manual and on the product box. Remember to read the owner’s manual carefully and to heed all of the warnings stated in the manual and on the scooter.

2. Never forget your helmet
Always wear a helmet. Be sure to check that the helmet is Snell or CPSC standards approved. Additional protective gear, such as elbow pads and kneepads, are highly recommended.

3. Dress appropriately
Wear appropriate shoes and clothing. Never ride without shoes or in sandals.

4. Check your ride
Inspect your scooter and ensure everything is in proper working order before each and every ride.

5. Ride with caution
Ride with caution. Be mindful of your surroundings, your speed and be on the lookout for pedestrians and vehicles.
